We are seeking Expressions of Interest for membership to our Advisory Council from members of Victoria’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, and from people working in mental health services in Victoria.

Membership to our council provides opportunities for people with lived experience and people working in services to take part in and shape our work. Our objectives are for members to share their knowledge and expertise and provide advice across a range of areas, including the needs and priorities of consumers in relation to complaints processes and effective responses to complaints.

Our council includes people who bring different experiences and perspectives, including people of different ages, gender and sexual identities, and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

We are seeking to expand our council to include members of Victoria’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community with lived experience as consumers, family members, carers or community or mental health service workers.

In line with our continued focus, our aim is to seek their knowledge, insights, guidance and advice to help ensure we provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria with culturally responsive and accessible complaints processes for addressing their concerns.

We are also seeking applications to fill two vacancies on our council for individuals working in mental health services who will use their knowledge and experience to help us achieve our strategic goals and make a positive difference through our work.

Applications close at midday on Monday 17 September 2018.
