The Department of Health is the lead agency for the management of this public emergency in Victoria. Up to date COVID-19 information and resources are available on the Department of Health website. Material is available in 25 languages. There is also a COVID-19 advice hotline (1800 675 398), a COVID-19 newsletter (subscribe by email) as well as a new mobile application and WhatsApp chatbot for people to access up-to-date information. There is also specific information for people aged over 65 and information on housing, family and disability services..

The Department of Health has a range of mental health resources including videos to support people during this COVID-19 crisis. The Victorian Government has also provided additional surge funding for a range of mental health services and supports as part of a broader response to the mental health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Federal Government website developed by people with lived experience. It contains updated information on COVID-19 and is a portal for digital mental health resources.

Suicide Call Back Service 

Phone 1300 659 467 for this free service for people having suicidal thoughts, family or friends affected by suicide and healthcare professionals treating suicidal people


Offers a helpline (1800 184 527), web chat and peer support for the LGBTIQ community in general.


24/7 National Mental Health Carer Helpline (1300 554 660). Open to anyone who is caring for or about a relative or friend with a psychosocial disability.


Can be contacted online or by phone  (1800 737 737) 24/7 to support people impacted by sexual assault, domestic or family violence and abuse.

Mensline Australia 

Phone 1300 789 978 for telephone support, information and referrals for men dealing with relationship issues, or visit the website.
